If you've missed the UCAS equal consideration deadline that just passed, don't panic! You can absolutely still apply to dBs Institute, and many students successfully secure places after the deadline every year.
Here's what you need to know about your options.
The good news is that you can still apply through UCAS right up until 30th June. The key difference is that applications submitted after the equal consideration deadline aren't assessed alongside the January applications. Instead, universities and colleges look at whether they have available spaces on courses.
Our advice is not to wait. The sooner you get your application in, the better your chances of securing a place on your chosen course are. Our courses remain popular throughout the application cycle, so acting quickly gives you the best opportunity.
You can simply submit your application through UCAS as you normally would. While you won't receive the same equal consideration as earlier applicants, your application will be reviewed if places are available. Make sure your personal statement clearly explains your passion for music and highlights any relevant experience or projects you've worked on.

UCAS Extra is designed for students who've already used all five choices on their UCAS application but haven't received any offers or have declined all their offers.
If this applies to you, UCAS Extra lets you add one additional course choice at a time, completely free of charge. You can keep using this option until you receive an offer you're happy with, or until early July when Clearing begins.
If you apply after 30th June, or if you're still looking for a place in July and August, your application automatically enters Clearing. This is UCAS's system for filling remaining university and college places, and it can move quickly during the busy summer period.
Clearing is particularly active once A-level and BTEC results are released, and it's worth being proactive during this time. Courses with spaces can fill up fast, so if you're interested in a place at dBs, get in touch with our admissions team directly as soon as possible.
The most important thing to remember is that missing the January deadline doesn't mean you've missed your chance! Many students join dBs through later applications, UCAS Extra, and Clearing every year, and they go on to have exactly the same amazing experience as those who applied earlier.
Our admissions team is here to support you through every stage of the application process, whether you're applying in January or through Clearing. If you have questions about course availability, entry requirements, or anything else, don't hesitate to get in touch.
You can reach us at admissions@dbsinstitute.ac.uk or give us a call on 0161 552 6467. We'll talk you through your options and help you figure out the right move.
