Celebrating a fantastic NSS 2024 result

The results from NSS 2024 are in and our third year students have shared their feedback on their time at dBs Institute. What did they have to say?

The National Student Survey polls millions of undergraduate students around the UK each year for their feedback on their university experience. Looking at everything from the teaching quality, learning opportunities and academic support, to the assessment / feedback and student voice, the NSS results are one of the best ways for prospective students to see whether a university is right for them. 

It brings us great pride to see that once again, our students have shared an overwhelming amount of positivity in their feedback. Here's what they had to say. 

90% of dBs Institute students were positive about the teaching on their course

  • 98% said our staff were good at explaining things
  • 87% said staff often made the subject engaging
  • 87% said the course was intellectually stimulating
  • 90% said they were challenged to achieve their best work

88% of dBs Institute students were positive about the learning opportunities on their course

  • 86% felt the course equipped them for the future
  • 93% felt they had the opportunity to explore ideas and concepts in-depth
  • 87% felt the course introduced subjects/skills in a way that built on what they had already learned
  • 92% felt they had the opportunity to bring new information and ideas from different topics

90% of students at dBs Institute were positive about the assessment & feedback on their course

  • 89% felt the feedback helped improve their work
  • 95% believed the marking and assessment on their course was fair
  • 98% often received feedback on time
  • 92% felt the assessments allowed them to demonstrate what they had learned

86% of students at dBs Institute felt their voice was valued and heard on their course

  • 92% felt they received the right opportunities to give feedback on their course
  • 97% felt free to express their ideas, opinions and beliefs
  • 87% believed their opinions about the course were valued by staff

93% of students at dBs Institute were positive about the academic support on their course

  • 92% found it easy to contact teaching staff when they needed to
  • 93% believed teaching staff supported their learning well
  • 85% were positive about the mental wellbeing support communications they received
