Food for thought: dBs Manchester campus New Century Hall announces first independent food traders

As part of its £10m transformation, Manchester's New Century Hall will become a vibrant hive of independent food traders, in addition to its 800-capacity venue and role as home to dBs Manchester. The first batch of food vendors has now been announced and we can't wait to dig in!

The regeneration of the historic New Century Hall, located in Manchester's NOMA district, is gathering pace and, as well as becoming our new home and a nerve centre for music, New Century's kitchens will play host to an exciting line-up of independent food traders. The ground floor kitchens will seat up to 300 people and become the beating social heart of the redeveloped NOMA district.

The first in line to join New Century will be Adam Reid with ‘The Butty Shop’. The two-time Great British Menu winner and chef patron at fine dining Manchester restaurant The French, is switching things up for his new venture at New Century. The Butty Shop is giving the Great British butty its well-deserved time in the spotlight. With a strong focus on well-sourced, high-quality ingredients and classic Northern flavours, sandwiches will be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside classic British bakery sides - including pickled eggs and potato salad.

Plant-based Banh Vi will also be bringing their famous Vietnamese and Thai-inspired dishes to New Century. Alongside hot bowls of Pho, crisp summer rolls and their signature bánh mì baguettes, the Banh Vi team will be debuting new dishes specifically for their New Century launch.

Alongside The Butty Shop and Banh Vi, Marsden-based BaoBros23 will be bringing their British Street Food Awards ‘People’s Choice’ winning dishes to Manchester for the very first time! BaoBros23's innovative creations, that change every week, are made sustainably, with a low-waste focus and feature delicious Asian-inspired bao buns, loaded fries and desserts.

dBs ManchesterThe New Century Hall redevelopment is centred around the idea of cultivating talent. With dBs providing high-quality, specialist degree programmes in sound, music and digital technologies, an 800-capacity venue and a social hub with excellent food, the ecosystem of New Century aims to become a new beating heart for Manchester's creative industries.

We can't wait to see you there when dBs Manchester opens this September!
