Free Software Friday is our regular Friday feature here at the dBs Music blog. We dig the depths of the music production and media webosphere and discover what downloadable plugin freebies are worth double clicking each week.
Klevgrand's excellent range of sleek plugin effects, instruments and utilities has cemented them as favourites of ours for some time now, and the presence of some top-notch free offerings is the cherry on top. One such freebie is the SyndtSphere, which sports a fluid interface that allows you to blend a variety of sounds together to create a personal palette of sounds.
A remodelling of the Syndt polyphonic synthesiser, Klevgrand describe this as "a unique way of surfing sounds", and it's hard not to agree with that statement. The sphere of sounds is made up of 70+ presets that change based on the proximity of the surrounding nodes. It's a reactive and simple way of creating new sounds without diving into specific parameter controls, though you do get ping pong delay, legato and pitch bend controls to work with.
SyndtSphere is available to download for Mac and PC (AU/VST) and as a standalone iOS app, though the app is £1.99.
