Free Software Friday - Sound Magic Piano One

Free Software Friday is our regular Friday feature here at the dBs blog. We dig the depths of the music production and media webosphere and discover what downloadable plugin freebies are worth double clicking each week.

It's been a while since we've had a real instrument sound appear in Free Software Friday, but when we learnt that Sound Magic had released Piano One version 5.0 for free, we had to tell you about it.

Modelled on the Yamaha C7, this latest version utilises the same engine used in Sound Magic's newest commercial pianos, though as it's freeware there are limits to what you can do. There's no Sympathetic Resonance, Mechanical Noises, HD Velocity Layers and Multi Microphone Perspectiver support and less sample data for modelling.

Piano One is available on Windows (VST 32/64bit) and Mac (VST/AU 32/64bit) and can be downloaded from the link below.
