Hear what our students, guests and staff said about Industry Week 2025

Hear what our students, staff and guest speakers thought about this year's Industry Week at dBs Institute's Bristol, Manchester and Plymouth campuses.

Industry Week at dBs Institute is a chance for our students, across our Bristol, Plymouth and Manchester campuses, to get closer to the creative industries, hear from experts in their field and learn practical tips to hone their craft.

Across our campuses, we programme a range of guest lecture talks, workshops and events to give our students an inside perspective on life in the creative industries and some ideas on how they can break in when they graduate.

This year, guests included film score composition duo Geoff Barrow and Ben Salisbury, who created the scores for Ex Machina, Civil War and Annihilation, Jeremy Pritchard from Manchester natives Everything Everything and electronic music artist, composer, sound designer and performer Robin Rimbaud, aka Scanner.

Hear from a selection of our students to learn what they got from the experience.

Here, our amazing guest speakers explained how they found Industry Week at dBs, what it was like to speak with our students and why they think institutes like dBs are important for young creatives trying to start their careers.

To top off the week, we had an on-site event called Sonic Identities, featuring the likes of Bristol-based Dubstep legend Pinch and key members from Motion and Clock Factory who discussed the industry via panel talks and interviews. Learn more about it here!
