How to make money from library music

Making money from music libraries can take a while, but it's a great way to secure consistent revenue and make a living from music production. Paul Whitehead's tips for making money, and getting paid, as a library musician include:

• The more tracks you have on libraries, the better. Keep producing.
• "Play the long game." Royalty delays mean you may not see significant royalties come through for a while. "As long as you don't stop producing, your royalties will catch up."
• The majority of revenue comes through PRS, so join it as soon as possible if you're serious about making music for libraries or sync.
