VIDEO: Danny Byrd Masterclass | 'Salute' Track Breakdown

As part of our annual Industry Week at dBs Bristol we were honoured to welcome Danny Byrd for a special masterclass and track breakdown of 'Salute', the opening track of his 2018 album 'Atomic Funk'.

An institution in the Drum & Bass scene, Danny Byrd has been a prominent player in dance music since the 1990s, becoming one of the first artists to sign with Hospital Records in 1999. With DnB running through the veins of Bristol, and many of our Electronic Music Production students looking to emulate Danny's success, it was the perfect time to welcome him into our Bristol campus. 

In his track breakdown, Danny gave our students a look inside his Logic Pro X arrangement for 'Salute', explaining the inception of ideas, their recording and processing and his top tips for how to create a similar piece. Watch the full session in the video below.
