Heavyocity's Foundations is a free soft grand piano powered by Kontakt's free player and an ideal compositional tool for cinematic work for screen.
Foundations brings together the organic sounds of a grand piano and melds it with a layer of sound design - dubbed creative textures - and a palette of controls to shape your perfect sound.
The UI is clean and simple, with just a few controls per section. These sections are the mix between your piano and texture sound sources, ADSR, Gate / ARP controls and FX. There are also ten presets to work through, varying from straight soft piano, to reverse pulses, ARP triplets and more. Custom presets can be saved as well for easy recall.
Foundations is one of those plugins that instantly breeds new ideas as soon as you start playing. It's roots may be within the more cinematic side of composition, but it's use extends far beyond and can also be used as a quick sound design tool as well.
Foundations Piano is available for Windows and macOS (VST, AU, AAX) and can be downloaded for free here. It requires Kontakt Player 6.6.1 or later to run.
