Music producer tip: Should I listen to the genre of music I produce?

Does listening to the genre of music you produce help you to keep your finger on the pulse or does it lead to becoming a copycat and unoriginal? We found out with our panel of pro producers.

How do you stay original as a music producer working in electronic music with so much out there to influence you? 

DC Breaks and Amoss stay original by never listening to the genre of music they make. For Berwick, he "lives and breathes" his genre and has an intrinsic sense of self that always seems to come through his music.
