VIDEO: Bjørn Jacobsen talks video game sound design

Video game sound designer and all-round sonic wizard Bjørn Jacobsen recently visited dBs Bristol for an illuminating talk on game audio and sound design.

Growing up in Copenhagen, Bjørn Jacobsen's early days were consumed by heavy metal. However, as the electronic music scene grew so did his interest, leading him to pursue a successful DJ career under his moniker Cujorious One. Despite his success, Bjørn's passion was always in the creation of a single sound, which when combined with his love of video games set him on course to where he stands today; incredibly accomplished and involved with some of the biggest releases in AAA gaming.

In his masterclass, Bjørn details that journey, looking at his earliest forays into video game sound design to his work on EVE Online, Hitman and Cyberpunk 2077. Perhaps most special of all is a world-exclusive look into his work on Unfold Games upcoming psychological horror debut, DARQ.
