dBs Bristol student Anaïs Jan signs to Hospital Records

After a hugely successful time on the Women In D&B mentorship scheme, Electronic Music Production student Anaïs Jan has signed with the iconic Hospital Records

It’s mid-June. It’s Friday. The sun is out, the weekend’s just around the corner, we’re feeling good. And to top it all off, dBs Bristol’s Anaïs Jan has just had a dream come true moment and signed to Hospital Records.

The writing’s been on the wall for some time for Anaïs. By the end of 2022, she had already produced a Juno Download #1 - Game Changer w/ SMG and feat. Madrush MC - performed acclaimed sets at Lakota, Tokyo World and Depot Mayfield, created a Drum and Bass mix for Charlie Tee (BBC Radio 1 Dance) and as part of the Invicta Audio crew, took home the Drum&BassArena ‘Best Label Newcomer 2022’ award.

And, lest we forget, 2022 also saw Anaïs land a place on Hospital’s Women in D&B mentorship scheme, releasing the excellent ‘Ultrasounds Vol.3’ on the label.

“Through getting that Hospital mentorship, I've had loads of support and they've put me on all of their biggest shows as well,” said Anaïs when she originally landed the gig, “which is kind of scary. It’s also really cool… I get to go and be tutored by their biggest artists.

“Now I feel like I have to maintain; I have to be at the top of my game constantly, which is a really good thing. But there's no room for trial and error now. I have to be on the top of my game all the time.”

And that’s exactly what she has done.

2023 has already been an incredible year for Anaïs. Releases with Sudley, Champion DI and Flowdan; dream sets at Printworks and Warehouse project and a jam-packed summer of UK and international dates.

News of her signing to Hospital and forthcoming single ‘want u’ came in suitable fashion; announcing the news before hopping in a plane to go skydiving!

Speaking about the amazing news, Anaïs said, “Thank you dBs!!! Genuinely couldn’t have done it without you guys. Doing uni gave me the time to work on music and learn things in class & now I can do it full-time which is great!”

We’re buzzing to see what the future holds for Anaïs and implore any dance music fans to make it to a show this summer. You won’t be disappointed.
